DBI-SALA® has 65 years experience within the fall protection industry. The Capital Safety brands began in Europe in 1940 when the world’s first self-retracting lifeline, the SALA block, was patented for use in the silver mines in Sala, Sweden.
PROTECTA® began manufacturing the first full body harness as a fall arrest system in France in the 1950s, well before the first European standards. Protecta® also participated in the creation of the first French National Standard, NFS71020, concerning fall protection equipment and the first European fall protection standard, CEN/TC160
